Yoho – Banff – Jasper Trip

So many places to offroad, and hike! 🌲 All international borders are still closed because of COVID19 so focusing on exploration of areas around Canada. Definitely Rockies are my favourite ones! Visited three beautiful National Parks during that trip, and for sure looking forward to go back there soon.

Banff National Park is Canada’s oldest national park, established in 1885. Located in Alberta’s Rocky Mountains, 110–180 kilometres west of Calgary, Banff encompasses 6,641 square kilometres of mountainous terrain, with many glaciers and ice fields, dense coniferous forest, and alpine landscapes. ~wiki

Jasper National Park is extending over 11,000 square kilometres, it’s the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies and part of UNESCO’s Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site. ~pc.gc.ca

Yoho National Park is a national park of Canada in British Columbia. It is located within the Rocky Mountains along the western slope of the Continental Divide of the Americas in southeastern British Columbia. ~wiki

Carpenter Lake Offroad

What a weekend! What a trip! The whole gang going off-roading. Nothing better than the weekend in the wilderness. 🌲  Carpenter Lake is the largest of the three reservoirs of the Bridge River Power Project, which is located in the mountains west of Lillooet, British Columbia. The lake is about 185 kilometres north of the province’s major city of Vancouver and is formed by the 1951 diversion of the Bridge River by Terzaghi Dam into Seton Lake via a tunnel through Mission Mountain, which separates the Seton and Bridge drainages. Several ranches and homesteads in the broad serpentine of the upper Bridge River basin were flooded out by the hydro project, which changed the character of the upper valley forever. ~wiki

“Carpenter Lake is about 50 kilometres in length, although its upper reaches beyond the flooded gold mining town of Minto City are usually mudflat due to fluctuations in the level of the reservoir. Its total area approaches 50 square kilometres.”

Bowen Island

Couple weeks ago I’ve decided to spent some time locally around Vancouver. I’ve chosen island 30min/1h ride from my home. So beautiful place! … Bowen Island is an island municipality that is part of Metro Vancouver, BC, Canada. In addition, Island is included within the jurisdiction of the Islands Trust. Located in Howe Sound, is approximately 6 km wide by 12 km long, with the island at its closest point about 3 km west of the mainland. ~wiki

Beautiful British Columbia

I have always wanted to live in a place where I have in the neighborhood mountains, ocean, forests … Where I can hike, ski, swim, windsurf without driving far, far away from home. I arrived in Canada some time ago with a plan to stay here. I have moved into Vancouver BC and I can say for sure that I have found my dream place in the world. That was one of my the best decisions in life. Vancouver is a seaport city on the mainland of British Columbia, and the most populous city in the province. It is an urban center surrounded by wild nature. The best spot to work, live and play. Basecamp for all adventures around. In the wildness… Below you can see some photos attached to this post. I will keep updating this gallery to show you the most actual pictures from my natural BC’s life…

“Province where I have arrived, and known for the first time. Place where I belong. Nature which I love…”

Dominican Republic

Hi Folks! After a couple of months since this trip and redesigning process of my website, there’s a time to present first post on the blog. Traveling is one of my passion, and that’s why since this journey I’d like to start sharing with you photos, video clips and my thoughts from different adventures …

In January 2016 I’ve got a pleasure to see the Dominican Republic. On the internet, we can read that this place is a sovereign state occupying the eastern five-eighths of the island of Hispaniola, in the Greater Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean region. The western three-eighths of the island is occupied by the nation of Haiti, making Hispaniola one of two Caribbean islands, along with Saint Martin, two countries share that. Both by area and population the Dominican Republic is the second-largest Caribbean nation after Cuba.

The Dominican Republic has two completely different sides. In the south of island is a peaceful atmosphere with many great laguna beaches. In the north there is an ocean with big waves and great surfing spots.

This country is colorful and happy, but there are two sides to the story. Luxury hotels vs the real Dominican Republic… If you’re going to go to some places inside island the environment is going change (180-degree turn). It’s funny that many people inside resorts think that whole country looks like … resort? Reality can be completely different. For sure people are similar, but a smile on a face is not existing all time and also in many places you can see the poorest of the poor. Personally, I recommend to spend some time inside the Dominican Republic to see other cities, gather knowledge about culture, check all sides of this fascinating Caribbean island and feel a real atmosphere of this place. But watch out for the military patrols which are stopping your car, having big rifles and asking for … cigarettes. For me, it was absorbing experience.

I’m sure I need to go back in future to the Dominican Republic to check places and spots which I haven’t seen during my first visit in this beautiful place. Highly recommended!

Road Trip To Greece

On September 2015, I have traveled to my better half aunt living in Greece. For sure, I have decided to make a road trip instead of taking a plane. I love to drive, especially through wilderness and mountains. Preferable long distance so for me the decision was obvious… Starting from Poland I was heading through Czech Republic, Slovakia and all countries of old Yugoslavia. I was driving across Europe many times but truly that trip was the best one. So many beautiful landscapes, wild roads I have chosen and great people I have met around.

Just a history view … The six constituent republics that made up in the history the Republic of Yugoslavia were the Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. Serbia contained two Socialist Autonomous Provinces, Vojvodina and Kosovo, which after 1974 were largely equal to the other members of the federation. After an economic and political crisis in the 1980s and the rise of nationalism, Yugoslavia broke up along its republics’ borders, at first into five countries, leading to the Yugoslav Wars. From 1993 to 2017, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia tried political and military leaders from the former Yugoslavia for war crimes, genocide and other crimes.

In 2003 the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was renamed to State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. The union peacefully broke up when Serbia and Montenegro became independent states in 2006, while Kosovo proclaimed its independence from Serbia in 2008. ~wiki
