Professional experience

I have professional experience in work as a designer, team leader, and creative director. In my career the most time, I have worked as a UI/UX/IxD Designer. Additionally, there were some projects where I had to use my motion design and front-end development skills like HTML5 / CSS 3 or JS.

I have 12 years of international experience in my work.

I have created many projects for clients around the world. A while ago, I moved from Europe, and now I am living in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I am eligible to work for all companies in the EU (Polish Citizenship – European Union) and in Canada (Permanent Resident).

Design.

In my projects, I’m keeping an eye on excellent and correct typography, colours, animations and, first of all, on primary, crucial things like usability and user experience. I always want to go through the whole design process. Prototype, work on interaction design, prepare workflows, wireframes, mockups, then create final UI design… Everything to achieve required by project’s scope goals in following of my design aesthetic, guidelines and accessibility rules.

Collaboration.

I’m collecting and deciphering feedback using online tools like InVision, Jira, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Asana etc. or simple face-to-face meetings. Over the years, I am using AGILE principles and practices from Scrum beyond software development to achieve the best results connected with my professional work.

Implementation.

I’m always working closely with the front-end and back-end development team to ensure high-quality implementation of my design and to deliver correct final assets or full projects ready to release.

Hobby, Passion, ambitions

Everything that I’m doing in my career is related to my hobby and passion. I’ve always wanted to be a designer, and I’m glad and I can do this full-time, daily basis. Gather knowledge, play around multiple projects and, at the same time, have a lot of fun. It’s worth mentioning that additionally, to the UI/UX/IxD design work, as a Musician, I’m very involved with the music industry creating and producing music. Personally playing on guitar and piano, I’ve decided to focus also on motion design to visualize some of my creations.

As a motion designer, I have been for a long time bound up with the reggae music environment. I have created plenty of demo reels for music groups and worked with reggae radio station shooting interviews, concert backstages, and teasers of multiple auditions. Because of that, I was able to cooperate with Polish stars like Marika, East West Rockers, and Kamil Bednarek. Meanwhile, I was studying Journalism and Communication, and it allowed me to learn more and work on some great documentary movies in cooperations with editors, operators, screenwriters, and journalists from TVP.

USER-CENTRED DESIGN.

In my projects, I’m putting users at the center of product design and development. I’m talking directly to the users and stakeholders at key points in the workflow to ensure the product will deliver upon their requirements.

Strategy.

I’m identifying the project’s goal through the UX strategy. I’m defining every crucial aspect of the user experience before initiating the UI design phase. This means fewer misunderstandings and fewer CRs and resource wastage during the whole process.

RESERACH.

I employ qualitative and quantitated research methodologies when required to understand the user’s needs, behaviours, experience and motivations to inform the process of solving for user’s problems and the potential impact of design on an audience.

DESIGN THINKING.

My approach is hands-on, user-centric to innovation and draws from my toolkit and skillset to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success leading to differentiation and competitive advantage.

GAMIFICATION.

Based on my experience in the gaming industry I’m trying to also insert gameplay elements in non-gaming settings so as to enhance user engagement with a product or service. By weaving suitably fun features such as leaderboards or achievements, I can tap users’ intrinsic motivations so they become more engaged and at the same time enjoys using it.

TESTING.

I’m comparing a UI to its functional specifications to ensure that the app does what it is supposed to do, and it’s following all required by a project goal. For specific projects, I’m validating the system’s whole workflow to be sure that all UX/UI/IxD use cases were followed accurately and implemented by developers properly.
